sending this post on the sly - covering a german year 8 group but they're top set so no hassle... :)
just a quickie.
spent the weekend in cheltenham. mark and ruth are trying so hard to keep their spirits up. no diagnisis yet but some more results are in today i think. as yesterday was father's day, ruth took leo and finlay to see mark at the entrance to the hospital. he got there in a wheelchair and managed to stand when he saw the boys. leo ran to greet him and mark went down on one knee to hug him. his weakness did mean that he couldn't keep himself upright and he fell over and needed to be helped back to his chair but it is very special that leo has such joy when seeing mark. it can't be easy for leo.
ruth continues to visit every day - often twice. mark loves this, of course. i think it would be nice for ruth to post a blog - she mentioned that she would like to do this .
they might move mark out of intensive care today, i'm not sure. these daft hospital bugs are a concern. hey-ho.
back to the german class. they've discovered that the answers are in the back of the book. time to look serious :)

Hi Markie, your friendly morning receptionist here. Missing your sunny smile in the morning and wishing you a speedy recovery!
Thinking of Ruth and the Boys too, so hi to them also.
Your blog from yesterday sounded very emotional.Hopefully you will be transfered from intensive care real soon.
Anyway an interesting fact which may help is that in the 1800's drinking tea made from old boiled shoes was thought to cure disease. So thank goodness we have moved on slightly from there. I will close there for today and speak to you soon.
love from Helen
Hope you don;t mind Mark, but posted situaion and pray request on our church website ... well figured they'd all rememeber such an awesome Godfather!! Looks like they have....think of you all loads.

Ema - God has been gracious honouring recent prayer for healing, so we shall ask for Mark. Only this afternoon, the Spirit stopped me in my tracks and gave me John 6. Verse 2&3: "Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the miraculous signs he had performed on the sick". Tracey and I believe this scripture is encouraging us to lay hands on Christine who is due out of hospital tomorrow, as the doctors are also at a loss as to what to do for her. I pray this scripture spurs us on to be persistent in prayer and expectant of God's miraculous healing.
"Father God - place your soothing healing hand on Mark now Lord and remove the infection/virus from his body. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen"

I'm reminded that Jesus laid hands on Peter's mother in law who was sick in bed with a fever. As soon as He did so, the fever left her and she got up and began to wait on Him. Lord, you are the same yesterday, today and forever, so please lay your hands on Mark, so that, like Peter's Mother in law, the sickness will leave him at once and he is able to get up.

Markie - Finally I worked out how I could leave a message for you - not as young as I used to be you know, and not as with it as that brother of yours. Tim told me you were not in good shape and languishing in the hospital. by now the hospital must know more about you that you do yorself I am sure you are fed up with all the pushing and proding and tests. i hope that they are able to identify what the problem is and to put things right.
I still have an image of you as a 20 somthing year old, gooning around and behaving like a clown (I am guessing that not much has changed). it is hard to picture you in hospital to weak to stand. How time flies,.
Anyway you should be reassured of the thoughts and prayers of many accross the world. I hope that you find these messages a source of strength during this time and the knowledge that you are remembered, loved.
I will try (knowing full well as I write this that I am going to fail) to write regularly to you probably some small benile comments about life in India, just to give you a different perspective as you lie in hospital wioth your mind racing and thinking about so many other things.
Anyway enough from me, you have a very special brother in Tim.
Remeber the memories do not fade but remain to be built upon.
Love to you dear friend
Matthew (guess who???) - you will have to ask Tim I fear
